Small town free-range childhood. Train stop, coffee shops, Factories, farms, coal and lumber yards. Construction sites, no traffic lights. Woods, ponds, streams. Frogs, snakes, chickens, sports. Lincoln Logs, rail-tie forts.

Erector set, microscope. Model ships, planes, cars. Crystal radio, folk music, guitar. Paper, pencil, crayons. Color outside the lines, no lines. Read. Books, newspapers, magazines, nature-science-history. Everything in between.

Chalk board classrooms. Primary, secondary, technical and university. Education without schooling. Geometry, drawing, art, engineering, architecture. Graduate. Work. Design, plan, sketch, render, repeat. Examinations, registrations,

Camera, black and white film. Expose, develop, print. Contact sheets, color slides, carousels. Lenses, filters, gadgets. Rock and Roll. Snap, travel, snap some more, seek sunsets.

Westward. Draw, design, work, more work.
Promotions, larger projects, bigger clients. Corporate headquarters, design awards, company stock. Jazz and blues, earthquakes! Shaken and stirred.

Eastward. Solid ground. Family, friends, new people. Ski trips, acoustic music camps, golf, hockey. Direct planning and design projects. Schools, labs, hospitals. Head department. Teach, train, coach, mentor. Hire-fire-retire.

Simplify. Focus on art. Travel, hike, museums, galleries, food. Digitize, Create, using camera and computer as tools. Photo projects, books, shows. Visualize, capture, print, frame, exhibit, repeat…

Realize vision of: “a left handed view”
